Gold Coast Home Health Services received a Gold Seal of Approval in a recent evaluation conducted by the Community Health Accreditation Program, Inc. (CHAP).

"Achieving full CHAP accreditation for home health and hospice for the second time is a great accomplishment. It is a testament to the excellence of care Broward Health provides through Gold Coast,” said Lynda Friedman, RN, administrator of Gold Coast Home Health Services.

Gold Coast received the accreditation with commendations for quality and leadership. The award of accreditation is given for a three-year period. To earn accreditation, organizations are evaluated in a full range of business and clinical areas through a self-study and full site visit. The CHAP accreditation process uses the CHAP Standards of Excellence, which are driven by considerations of management, quality, client outcomes, adequate resources and long-term viability.

The Community Health Accreditation Program Inc. (CHAP), created in 1965, is an independent, non-profit agency. It was the first accrediting body for community-based health organizations in the United States. CHAP also has the authority to survey agencies providing home health care and hospice to determine if they meet the Medicare Conditions of Participation. CHAP accreditation publicly certifies that an organization has voluntarily met the highest standards of excellence for home and/or community-based health care. '
