Serving Broward, Collier, Monroe and Palm Beach counties
Broward General Medical Center is proud to partner with Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH) on the county’s first liver transplant program. This landmark partnership means yet another “first” for Broward General Medical Center and Broward Health. But more importantly, it’s bringing lifesaving care to the community we serve.
The arrangement allows all residents within the five county South Florida region, particularly Broward and Palm Beach counties, to benefit from JMH’s organ procurement processes. One of the biggest program benefits is that it enables Broward and Palm Beach residents to undergo liver transplants closer to home.
Broward General physicians and nurses are members of the transplant team and the hospital provides equipment and surgical facilities. JMH, which has been doing liver transplants since 1987, will provide the liver transplant surgeons, experts in liver transplants, clinical protocols and database, specialized lab services and transplant fellows.
