
To prepare for your stay at North Broward Medical Center, here are some tips on how to make your stay more comfortable:
To make your stay with us as comfortable as possible an admissions kit will be given to you containing several items for your personal usel. You may want to bring a few personal items from home in addition to what is provided in this kit. If you are unable to pack in advance for your stay, perhaps a friend or family member can bring your items to you.
What to Bring
- List of current medications
- Living Will/Advance Directives
- Slippers
- Brush and comb
- Bathrobe
- Toiletries such as deodorant, powder, shaving cream, shaver, make-up and shampoo
- Contact lens container and solution
- Cases or containers for eyeglasses and dentures
- Battery-operated clock
- Reading and writing materials
- Family photographs
- $10 or less for items such as newspapers
What to Leave at Home
For your protection, please be sure to leave all valuables at home or send such items home with a trusted friend or family member. To prevent a safety hazard, please leave small appliances such as hair dryers or electric shavers at home.
- Jewelry
- Credit cards
- Expensive articles of clothing
- Cell Phones
- Large sums of money, etc.
If you have no way of sending valuable items home, we will store them for you in our hospital safe. Please ask any member of the nursing or registration staff about this service. Any valuables stored in the safe can be reclaimed through the Cashier's office. Be sure to call ahead as cashiers are not available around the clock.
