Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – In only five years, Broward Health employees have raised more than $1 million through the Employee Giving Campaign to help support Broward Health hospitals and programs.
Funds raised through the ongoing campaign, which is run by the Broward Health Foundation, include personal contributions and special fundraisers held at all Broward Health facilities.
“Broward Health employees truly care about our patients, their families and the community,” said Broward Health President & CEO Frank Nask. “Thousands of our employees have contributed to this campaign and their generosity will continue to make a positive impact for years to come.”
The employee-contributed funds have benefited a number of projects throughout the entire hospital system, including the addition of electronic directory kiosks at Broward Health Medical Center, upgrades and enhancements to hospice rooms at Broward Health Coral Springs, infusion center upgrades at Broward Health Imperial Point and Broward Health North, enhancements to Broward Health Urgent Care in Weston, the purchase of medication for patients at Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center, upgrades to the family waiting rooms at Chris Evert Children’s Hospital and refurbishments at several Broward Health Community Health Services locations.
Funds from the Employee Giving Campaign were also used to complete the renovation of the Adult Infusion Center at Broward Health Medical Center. “Our patients absolutely love the new Infusion Center,” said Adele Holman, an employee donor and registered nurse who works in the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Broward Health Medical Center. “It’s a wonderful feeling to know that employee contributions are helping to make the lives of patients and their families more comfortable.”
The Broward Health Foundation is the fundraising arm of Broward Health. The mission of the Broward Health Foundation is to improve the health of the community by providing resources to promote, support and enhance the programs and initiatives of Broward Health.
