Tuesday, June 05, 2012 - Broward Health Recognized For Delivering Decades of Quality Healthcare: June 7 Proclaimed Broward Health Day

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Broward County Commissioners have issued a proclamation naming June 7 Broward Health Day in recognition of Broward Health’s commitment to provide compassionate and quality healthcare to the residents of Broward County.

Broward Health will mark the day with celebratory events for employees and physicians at all of its facilities. The CEO of each hospital will read the proclamation and employees will enjoy music, light refreshments and performances by local high school cheerleaders.

“This is a terrific day for our organization and our employees,” said Broward Health President/CEO Frank Nask. “For more than 70 years we have served the Broward County community with unwavering dedication, and it is an honor to receive this proclamation recognizing the world-class healthcare our professionals and physicians deliver every day.”

Broward Health will also be celebrating the recent renaming of four of its hospitals. In late March, the Board of the North Broward Hospital District voted to approve a proposal to better align all of the System’s hospitals under the Broward Health name, thus culminating a process that began in 2007 when the Broward Health brand was first created.  Broward Health’s hospitals are now known as:

  • Broward Health Medical Center (formerly Broward Health Broward General Medical Center).
  • Broward Health North (formerly Broward Health North Broward Medical Center).
  • Broward Health Coral Springs (formerly Broward Health Coral Springs Medical Center).
  • Broward Health Imperial Point (formerly Broward Health Imperial Point Medical Center).

“By bringing all of our facilities under the same name, we are helping build a common identity across our community so that when a patient goes to a medical facility that bears the Broward Health brand, they know they have the assurance of receiving the same level of high quality care,” said Nask. “Additionally, the unified name reinforces the sharing of knowledge, medical records, expertise and technology that results in better outcomes for the patients we serve in our community.”
