Gilda’s Club South Florida will host the 7th Annual Day of Research and Hope beginning at 8:30 a.m. on March 28, 2009 at the Signature Grand in Davie, Florida. This educational event is open to the public and offers presentations by prestigious physicians and experts in the medical oncology field. A question and answer session is offered at the end of each presentation.

Keynote Speaker:

This year’s Keynote Speaker Frank Marini, Ph.D, Assistant Professor, Molecular Hematology and Therapy, Division of Cancer Medicine, The University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Houston, Texas will present “Stem Cell Research…  Where is it Heading?”

Our panel of experts include:

  • "Surgical Options – How Far We Have Come” Dr. Mark Block, Thoracic Oncology, Memorial Healthcare, Hollywood, Florida.
  • “The Future is Here Today – The da Vinci Surgical System” Dr. Jason Gates, Director Gynecologic Oncology, Broward Health works at Imperial Point Medical Center, Holy Cross Hospital and Broward General Hospital.
  • “What is Proton Beam Therapy?” Dr. Anurag Agarwal,  Radiation Oncology Radiation-Oncology Research, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts Medical Director Radiation Oncology, Broward Health, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
