The Bronze Performance Achievement Award for 2008 was presented to Broward General Medical Center also for its commitment and success in also implementing a higher standard of stroke care. Broward General consistently followed the treatment guidelines in the GWTC-Stroke program for 90 days.

“Broward Health’s dedicated professionals at North Broward and Broward General are to be congratulated,” said Frank Nask, president and CEO, Broward Health. “The staff provides the utmost care to their patients by listening, evaluating and teaching them to recognize the warning signs of a stroke, how to reduce their risk of a second stroke and how to live a healthy lifestyle following a stroke. They know that a stroke patient’s care does not stop with in-patient treatment.”
