HOSPITALART Donates Canvas Artwork to Broward Health Weston
HOSPITALART, a program of Women in the Visual Arts, Inc., (WITVA) has donated 25 painted works of art to Broward Health Weston.
“The artwork is perfect for our adult and pediatric waiting rooms and exam rooms in our Urgent Care Center,” said Natassia Orr, administrator, Broward Health Weston. “We truly appreciate WITVA’s hard work and generosity in providing these lively and colorful paintings for our patients to enjoy.”
WITVA is a 501©(3) organization. Artist members of WITVA are professional working artists who participate in juried art exhibitions throughout the year. In addition to the donation of free hospital art, WITVA supports the artistic achievement of local university students who wish to further their studies in the Visual Arts at the graduate level but need scholarship aid. In 2008, WITVA awarded $6,800 in scholarships to five students from FAU and FIU. WITVA also gave $13,400 in awards and prizes to students who participated in its annual Spring Celebration of High School Art in Palm Beach County. For more information, please visit www.witva.org
“Art is known to help fill the emotional needs of patients and families in a stressful environment. We appreciate the opportunity to donate this artwork to brighten the lives of those who pass through Broward Health’s doors,” said Bobbie Galex, director of HOSPITALART.
