BGMC Offers Affiliated Physicians Alternative Method for Earning CME Credits
NCME TV Allows Doctors to Earn CME Credits Online 24/7 for Free
Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Broward General Medical Center (BGMC) recently enrolled in a program, NCME TV, which will allow affiliated physicians to earn State-mandated Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits by taking free online courses about relevant medical topics.
“As a physician it is often difficult to find the time to attend CME classes,” said Mariana Martinasevic, M.D., a psychiatrist at BGMC. “NCME TV is a very convenient alternative for obtaining this education which is an imperative part of staying current on important medical issues.”
BGMC’s membership in NCME TV allows physicians on staff at the medical center to take online CME-certified video courses on-demand. The courses are available 24 hours a day, accommodating every physician’s unique schedule.
“Now more than ever hospitals are being examined by the Joint Commission and other quality and performance improvement organizations,” said James Thaw, CEO of BGMC. “Broward General is committed to meeting and surpassing the standards set by these organizations. Our membership in NCME TV is an indicator of our commitment to first-class patient care.”
Courses available through NCME TV include titles like hospital quality, medicine in various disease states, HIV/AIDS management, domestic violence, pain management, and late-breaking topics like avian influenza and hospital bioterrorism.
“The quality of these courses is excellent,” said Martinasevic. “I am very pleased Broward General is giving us this option.”
NCME TV system is produced by the Network for Continuing Medical Education (NCME). NCME has been providing quality medical programs to hospitals across the country since 1965.
