Prominent Heart Group Joins Broward Health’s Prestigious Heart Center of Excellence
Fort Lauderdale, FL - The Heart Center of Excellence at Broward Health is pleased to announce the addition of physicians from the group formally known as the Greater Fort Lauderdale Heart Group to its highly respected roster of cardiologists and cardiac surgeons. With these physicians joining the Broward Health Physician Group on September 1, 2010, The Heart Center of Excellence will emerge as one of the preeminent and largest cardiology practices, offering the latest, most comprehensive cardiovascular services in Broward County.

The physicians, who are joining the Broward Health Physician Group, and are working with The Heart Center of Excellence will remain in their current locations at 3536 N. Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale, 954-566-8367 and One W. Sample Road in Deerfield Beach, 954-785-0300.
Joining the Broward Health Physician Group and working with The Heart Center of Excellence are:
Dr. Harold Altschuler has been a practicing cardiologist for more than 30 years. He received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and his medical degree with honors from the Ghent University School of Medicine in Ghent, Belgium. He served his residency and was Chief Medical Resident at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and completed his cardiology fellowship at Montifiore Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Jeffrey Dennis graduated Cum Laude from Boston University and received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his internship at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He also completed his residency and a three-year cardiology fellowship at Emory University Hospital.
Dr. Joel Gellman received his medical degree from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. He completed internships at Hillbrow Hospital in Johannesburg and at Massachusetts General Hospital, and residencies at the Johannesburg Hospital and at Massachusetts General. Dr. Gellman received fellowship training in medicine at Harvard, in cardiovascular research at Yale, and in cardiology at Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Andre Landau, in practice for nearly thirty years, received his medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg, South Africa. He completed his internship at the Baragwanath Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa. Dr. Landau completed his residency both at the Baragwanath Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa and the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Landau completed his cardiology fellowship and interventional cardiology fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York.
The cardiologists are on staff at Broward Health hospitals.
