BGMC offers new moms a “suite” experience in the Maternity Department
Ft. Lauderdale, FL - Step into the new Empress Suite at Broward General Medical Center, and you could easily assume you’re in a posh hotel rather than a maternity unit.
Unveiled in August, the new suite is called the “Empress Suite." It was designed to create an environment for new mothers and their families that combines comfort and convenience with state-of-the-art medical care.
The private suite is equipped with amenities such as a full-sized bed in addition to the birthing bed, a bathroom with a large shower, a fully stocked refrigerator, a large flat-screen television, and a small dining area for visitors to enjoy time with the new mother and baby. Elegant bedding, soft wall colors and window treatments add to the luxurious ambiance of the room. Additional services include extended in-room dining hours, and “high tea” service upon request.
Available for an additional fee, the suite enhances the birthing experience, making it more memorable for the new mother and her family.
“Patients are looking for additional space or privacy, or just some extra pampering during this special time,” said Alanna Yormark, nurse manager for the Maternity Department at BGMC. “This suite offers the best of everything, including world-class medical care.”
