Broward Health Cardiologist Appointed to Two Leadership Positions in His Field
David E. Perloff, M.D., F.A.C.C, F.A.C.P., medical director of Cardiac Rehabilitation for Broward Health at Broward General Medical Center (BGMC), was recently appointed to leadership positions in the Florida Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and the Broward County Medical Association.
Dr. Perloff was elected as the Broward County Representative of the Florida Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, a professional organization that advocates influence to healthcare policy and quality cardiovascular care through education, research promotion, development and application of standards and guidelines. The American College of Cardiology has 39,000 members, with 950 practicing physician members in the Florida Chapter. Membership requires outstanding credentials, achievements and community contributions to cardiovascular medicine.
Dr. Perloff was also invited to sit as a member of the board of directors for the Broward County Medical Association (BCMA), which has a membership of 1,500 physicians of all specialties who work toward providing access to high quality healthcare to the residents of Broward County. Members of the Association seek to maintain the integrity of medical practice in Broward County and act as advocates in legislative, regulatory and economic forums for the interests of patients in Broward County.

Dr. Perloff received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Miami School of Medicine where he earned many awards and honors including the medical honorary, Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his internship, internal medicine residency, and cardiology fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Dr. Perloff received his Bachelor of General Studies Summa Cum Laude from the University of Miami, Coral Gables.
Dr. Perloff’s professional affiliations include the American College of Cardiology - Fellow, American College of Physicians - Fellow, Southeast Lipid Association - Charter Member, American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association and the Broward County Medical Association.
In addition to serving as the medical director of Cardiac Rehabilitation for Broward Health at Broward General Medical Center, Dr. Perloff is the assistant director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program and assistant clinical professor at Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine.
