Thursday, April 28, 2011 - Patrick Jordan, MD and Hamed Komaiha, MD Named Most Valuable Physicians at North Broward Medical Center

Deerfield Beach, FL - Every quarter, Broward Health North Broward Medical Center (NBMC) recognizes two outstanding doctors as Most Valuable Physicians (MVP). This quarter’s MVP recipients are Patrick Jordan, MD and Hamed Komaiha, MD.

“We are delighted to present the MVP award to both of these outstanding physicians,” said Pauline Grant, CEO of North Broward Medical Center. “Their caring and compassion for our patients and hospital staff make them invaluable assets to our North Broward Medical Center family.”

Dr. Patrick Jordan has been an anesthesiologist at North Broward Medical Center since 1999 and has been the Chief of Anesthesia since 2001.  Dr. Jordan earned his doctorate degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and post doctoral training at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center.  He is Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.  Dr. Jordan serves on many committees including the NBMC Operating Room Committee, Patient Safety Patient Care Key Group, Surgical Review Committee and is the Physician Champion for the Sedation Committee.  He belongs to the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Florida Society of Anesthesiologists, Florida Medical Society and the Ft. Lauderdale Surgical Society.  His nominations spoke enthusiastically of his commitment to the NBMC Joint Replacement Center and Spine Care Center.  He was praised for his dedication to the pre-operative patient consults, even coming in on his days off to ensure that patients were prepared and comfortable about their upcoming surgery and anesthesia.

Infectious disease physician, Dr. Hamed Komaiha, has been on staff at North Broward Medical Center since 1998.  He earned his doctorate degree at Mansoura University Hospital. Dr. Komaiha completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at St.Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital and Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of California-Davis Medical Center.  He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.  Dr. Komaiha’s nominations spoke of him as being courteous, approachable, welcoming and friendly.  He was applauded for promoting collaboration and self esteem among staff and for responding quickly to the needs of both patients and staff.  His positive, professional manner and concern for the dignity and privacy of patients were mentioned as some of his many strengths.
