Tuesday, June 07, 2011 - New Chief of Staff Elected at Broward Health North Broward Medical Center

Deerfield Beach, FL - Douglas Ford, MD, was elected chief of staff for Broward Health North Broward Medical Center (NBMC) at the hospital’s May medical council meeting.

During his two-year term, Ford will take on the responsibilities of chairing medical council meetings and working with administration to improve hospital services, facilities and physician involvement.

“We are fortunate to have Dr. Ford serve as chief of staff here at North Broward Medical Center,” said Pauline Grant, CEO of NBMC. “He is a longtime, dedicated member of our staff and I look forward to working with him in his new role.”

Ford, an anesthesiologist, has been an active medical staff member at North Broward Medical Center since 1990. He served as the vice chief of staff from 2009-2011 and chief of surgery 2006-2008.  He has served on the pharmacy and therapeutics committee, credentials and qualifications committee, multidisciplinary trauma and peer review committee.  Ford earned his undergraduate degree at Boston College and received his doctorate at the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.  He completed his residency at Baystate Medical Center, Tufts University, Springfield, MA.

Physician leaders joining Ford on the medical council are Darren Hoffberger, DO,  vice chief of staff, Narendra Maheshwari, MD, secretary/treasurer and Paul Rondino, MD, immediate past chief of staff.
