Tuesday, August 16, 2011 - Broward General Medical Center Names Connie Thornton Regional Manager of Quality/Patient Safety Officer

Fort Lauderdale, FL - Connie Thornton has been named Regional Manager of Quality/ Patient Safety Officer for Broward General Medical Center and Chris Evert Children’s Hospital. In her role as regional manager, she will coordinate efforts aimed at providing a safe, functional, supportive and effective environment for patients, staff and other individuals in the hospital. Thornton will be responsible for collecting and organizing pertinent data, conducting hazard surveillance activities and risk assessment evaluations, as well as providing training. She will also develop and institute policies and procedures and review outcomes of practice drills and events. 

Prior to obtaining her position, Thornton spent two years as coordinator of quality at Broward Health corporate. Thornton has worked for Broward Health since 1994.
