Grant Named One of Becker’s Hospital Review’s 56 Women Leaders of Hospitals and Health Systems

Deerfield Beach, Fla. - Broward Health North Broward Medical Center CEO Pauline Grant has earned the distinct recognition of being named one of the 56 Women Leaders of Hospitals and Health Systems.  Recognized by “Becker’s Hospital Review,” this designation highlights the talents and extraordinary accomplishments of some of today's most notable female leaders in the health care industry.

According to Becker’s, “The women featured in this list have demonstrated the ability to lead through daily oversight of hospital or health system operations, financial turnarounds, quality improvement initiatives and much more. During a time of uncertainty and overwhelming change, these women continue to help their respective organizations serve as anchors of health in their communities.”

Grant has worked in health care for 37 years.  As the CEO at North Broward Medical Center, the second largest hospital in Broward Health, she is responsible for strategic leadership of a 409-bed community hospital and Adult Level II Trauma Center, Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center, Neurological Institute, Joint Replacement Center, Comprehensive Cancer Center, Spine Care Center and Wound Care Center.  Through Grant’s guidance, North Broward Medical Center is first in the nation to attain Joint Commission Certification for Alzheimer’s disease, first in Florida to attain Joint Commission Certification for Stroke Rehabilitation and is the first hospital in Broward County to attain Joint Commission Certification for Hip and Knee Replacement.

Grant was also an honoree at the South Florida Business Journal annual Broward Ultimate CEO Award held in October 2010.  She has received the Milestone Award for Excellence in Healthcare from the Jamaican USA Chamber of Commerce, was named as one of Modern Healthcare’s 2008 Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare and was the recipient of the March of Dimes 2006 Women of Distinction award.  Grant received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica.  She received her Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.
