Coral Springs Medical Center Auxiliary Awards Scholarship Recipients
Coral Springs, FL - Thanks to the fundraising efforts of Coral Springs Medical Center (CSMC) Auxiliary, eight Broward County healthcare students were recently selected to receive college scholarships from the CSMC Auxiliary totaling $12,000.
“We are delighted to be able to award such deserving students these scholarships,” said Claire Bojanoski, auxiliary president. “We work hard to raise money throughout the year for many important causes, but this is one of our favorites.”
The Auxiliary raises the money to provide scholarships through various activities such as book, art, uniform and jewelry sales in addition to monies earned through the auxiliary-run hospital gift shop. Each student selected will receive a $1,500 one-time scholarship to be used towards their college education.
“We see these scholarships as a way to help local students as they pursue their college degrees, but beyond that, it’s a long term investment in our future healthcare professionals,” said Bojanoski. “It’s so wonderful to hear from our scholarship recipients as they complete their degrees and start their careers.”
The students receiving the $1,500 scholarships this year are:
Jenny Esposito, Florida Atlantic
Julie Hall, Broward Community College
Talisha Romchal, Brown University
Trevov McKenzie, Florida A&M
Tiffany Roxboroug, University of Florida
Chris Thomas, University of Florida
Rachel Tutinick, Nova Southeastern University
Grashma Vadakkel, University of Florida
Students interested in applying for scholarships must be Broward County residents and studying towards a degree in a healthcare related field. Scholarship applications are available at the Auxiliary office located inside CSMC. For more information, call Janet DiStanislao at (954) 726-9243.
