Tuesday, November 22, 2011 - City of Fort Lauderdale Proclaims November 15th “Dr. El Sanadi Day”

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - Fort Lauderdale city commissioners and Mayor John P. “Jack” Seiler honored Dr. Nabil El Sanadi, chief of emergency medicine at Broward Health, by proclaiming November 15th as “Dr. El Sanadi Day” for his outstanding contributions and continuing dedication to the citizens of Fort Lauderdale.

El Sanadi is the EMS medical director for the City of Fort Lauderdale firefighter paramedic services. He is also the EMS medical director for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

Dr. El Sanadi stands with the nominating committee - Fort Lauderdale EMS - who nominated him to receive a proclamation stating November 15th as "Dr. El Sanadi Day."

“To be recognized by my physician peers on the Florida Medical Association Board of Governors is very special, but to be recognized by the ‘boots on the ground’ - the paramedic firefighters, healthcare’s front line providers, the people who save lives on a daily basis - is the highest compliment,” said Dr. El Sanadi. “I am truly humbled and delighted to be honored by them.”

El Sanadi graduated from Ohio State University with honors in medicine and public health. Following medical school, he completed a medicine residency and a one-year cardiology research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio. He also obtained a Masters of Business Administration at Weather Head School of Management in Cleveland, Ohio.

He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and has been a regular presenter at the American College of Emergency Physicians National Scientific Assemblies since 1994.  He was a member of the Board of Governors for the Florida Medical Association between 2002 and 2010.

In 2011, Gov. Rick Scott appointed El Sanadi to the Florida Board of Medicine. He is currently the chair of the Florida Medical Association’s Council for Ethical and Judicial Affairs and was recently re-appointed to the Broward County Emergency Medical Services Council.
