Broward Health North CyberKnife®

Robotic Radiosurgery System

The Broward Health North CyberKnife® - one of only two in Broward County - differentiates Broward Health North as the region's leading Radiation-Oncology Center of Excellence.

The CyberKnife® is a highly specialized treatment for cancer. It is the world's only robotic radiosurgery system designed to treat tumors anywhere in the body non-invasively with sub-millimeter accuracy and real-time tumor tracking. Unlike conventional stereotactic radiosurgical systems, the CyberKnife® uses image-guidance and computer controlled robotics to deliver multiple beams of high-energy radiation to the tumor from virtually any direction. The robotic arm-mounted radiation therapy system can be used to treat a number of cancers including the brain, prostate, lung, spine, pancreas, liver, head and neck, and others. In addition, the robotic arm is able to follow a patient's movement, resulting in less constraints on the patient during treatment.

CyberKnife® patient benefits:

  • Pain-free
  • Non-invasive
  • No anesthesia required
  • Outpatient procedure
  • No recovery time
  • Immediate return to normal activity
  • No invasive head or body frame
  • No breath holding during treatment
