Medical emergencies are scary to think about, but they do happen. So, it’s good to know that Broward Health has four emergency rooms and two trauma centers right here in your neighborhood.
Broward Health Medical Center
Staffed by board certified/board qualified emergency medicine physicians, nurses and support staff, the Emergency Department (ED) at Broward Health Medical Center has over 60 treatment areas to provide privacy without compromising efficiency. Within the ED, 10 rooms are also dedicated to the treatment of noncritical care to "fast track" patients quickly.
One of the only three Level I Trauma Centers in South Florida, Broward Health Medical Center's state-accredited Trauma Center provides around-the-clock care for adult and pediatric trauma patients. The rooftop helipad allows trauma patients to be transported into the facility quickly to facilitate care during the first "golden hour" after a trauma. The Trauma Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with trauma surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, nurses and ancillary staff to perform immediate life-saving diagnostic and treatment procedures.
One of the only two Level I trauma centers in South Florida that specialize in pediatric care, the Pediatric Emergency Department at Chris Evert Children's Hospital is staffed with specially trained physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists. With the latest innovative technology to allow easier access and quicker results 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The unit is equipped with 12 treatment rooms for patients 17 years of age or younger.
Broward Health Coral Springs
The modern Broward Health Coral Springs Emergency Department boasts 40 treatment rooms equipped with state of the art technology as well as some of the luxuries of home. The department also features:
- Primary Stroke Center designation
- ER for Kids
- Critical care treatment
Broward Health Imperial Point
The new Emergency Department at Broward Health Imperial Point opened its doors January 2010. This modern facility has 20 treatment rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology as well as some of the luxuries of home. The department also features a behavioral health treatment area, Primary Stroke Center, designated critical care treatment room and family waiting area.
Broward Health North Broward
When you need emergency care, day or night, it’s comforting to know that there’s a world-class emergency room close by. The experienced staff at Broward Health North is specially trained for all types of emergencies:
- 100% of our ER physicians are board certified in emergency medicine
- 100% of our nurses are trauma-trained and nationally certified (TNCC)
- Adult Level II Trauma Center-featuring state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and treatment
- Chest Pain Emergency Unit
- Pediatrician in-house daily from 4pm-midnight for your little ones
