Broward Health has developed an International Program designed to provide comprehensive, quality health care services for international patients.
Broward Health International offers a full spectrum of medical services, including specialized treatment in cardiology care, advanced cancer treatment, liver transplants, minimally invasive surgical treatments with the robotic da Vinci® Surgical System and noninvasive CyberKnife® Stereotactic Radiosurgery. We also offer patients comprehensive neurological care, a first-class pediatric hematology/oncology program, surgical eye center offering treatment for delicate eye problems and a leading orthopedic and sports medicine center.
International Coordination and Concierge Service
Entering into a foreign country can be overwhelming, especially when medical attention is needed. Broward Health has invested more than $33 million in emergency department expansions. Broward Health Imperial Point recently completed a transforming expansion, which more than tripled the emergency department space and Broward Health Coral Springs completed a similar project in 2011, doubling the size of their emergency department.
Two of the three trauma centers in Broward County are Broward Health facilities: Level I (adults and pediatrics) at Broward Health Medical Center and Level II (adults) at Broward Health North.
The Heart Center of Excellence at Broward Health Medical Center specializes in open heart surgery and is led by internationally-recognized physicians and surgeons. The Center, one of the nations' top centers for cardiovascular treatment, gives patients access to a medical team of experts and the most advanced technology needed to combat heart disease and its related conditions.
Our team of cardiac physicians and cardio-thoracic surgeons are among the most talented and experienced in Broward. Patients have access to a cardiac rehabilitation program, as well as a wide range of services at all of our hospitals for prevention, diagnosis and treatment. In fact, Broward Health Imperial Point's Heart Failure Management program was the hospital in South Florida to receive the Gold Seal of Approval™ for health care quality from the Joint Commission.
Affiliated with the world-renowned Moffitt Cancer Center, our Comprehensive Cancer Centers are solely dedicated to the rapid translation of research discoveries to directly benefit people with cancer. We are proud to offer our international patients a full spectrum of cancer care services.
Our cancer-fighting arsenal includes the Varian Trilogy and Varian iX Image Guided Radiation Therapy System, which spare a patient's healthy tissue while delivering precise doses of radiation to the tumor. We are home to Broward's first hospital-based CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery system, located at Broward Health North. The CyberKnife® allows for pain-free treatment of cranial, spine, pancreas, liver and lung tumors that were once considered inoperable. The da Vinci® surgical systems at Broward Health Medical Center, Broward Health Imperial Point and Broward Health Coral Springs provide the best in minimally invasive robotic surgery.
Our board-certified pediatric specialists at Chris Evert Children's Hospital offer a complete range of services for pediatric patients and their families. From the pediatric emergency department to the pediatric intensive care unit, we deliver the most advanced care for children. Our neonatal intensive care unit provides the highest level of care for infants who are critically ill, premature or have special needs. Our pediatric hematology and oncology program is a designated Center of Excellence and is offered as part of our comprehensive care center at Chris Evert Children's Hospital. Our pediatric oncologists treat all children 0-18 who have been diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders.
The Lillian S. Wells Women's Health Center at Broward Health Medical Center offers a full range of health care services for women, all conveniently housed under one roof. The Center, opened in November 2010, created a beautiful, spa-like setting that combines care with comfort, thanks to a gift of more than $4.5 million. Its specialized, comprehensive women's health care services include:

The Women's Center at Broward Health Weston is committed to providing professional evaluations and a high degree of care and compassion to our patients. Our team of medical professionals includes radiology and certified radiology technologists. The staff at the Women's Center is committed to breast care and detection of osteoporosis by providing services such as digital mammography, ultrasound, breast MRI and digital bone densitometry.
Broward Health Coral Springs takes women's health seriously with its New Beginnings maternity services, Women's Diagnostic and Wellness Center and Enlightened Women's Club. With state-of-the art capabilities and a coordinated team of experts, we are dedicated to making it easier than ever for women to receive the best in breast care and detection of osteoporosis. Broward Health Coral Springs also partnered with the Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Fund to educate, screen, treat and heal many women in our community.
To increase the number of minimally invasive surgical options available to patients, the surgical team at Broward Health employs robotic technology, such as the da Vinci® Surgical System. These techniques result in less pain, faster recoveries, less scarring and excellent clinical outcomes.
Our neurological program features state-of-the-art technology, complete quality service and highly trained professionals who are nationally certified in neurology.
