Wednesday, May 09, 2012 - A Prom to Remember Welcomes 200-Plus Teenage Cancer Patients to Ultimate Prom Experience

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - On Friday, May 11, at 7 p.m., more than 200 teenage cancer patients from Chris Evert Children’s Hospital, Baptist Health South Florida, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Miami Children’s Hospital, The Children’s Hospital at Palms West and the University of Miami Hospital will descend upon The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale to celebrate A Prom To Remember. Including wardrobe, a limo ride, red carpet entrance, interviews with media and a night of music and memories, A Prom To Remember promises the ultimate prom experience.

After being escorted up the red carpet, which begins at 6 p.m., by Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders and Florida Panthers Ice Dancers, kids will have an opportunity to meet a number of celebrities, including Miami Dolphins wide receivers Davone Bess and Marlon Moore, Miami Dolphins kicker Dan Carpenter, celebrity DJ Markus Schulz and hip-hop singer Sx-Fo.  Team mascots will add to the sense of occasion. 

The prom’s featured act is YouTube sensation, brother and sister pop duo Brandon & Savannah.  Their video for “All the Runaways” has over one million views, and they recently performed at the Young Artists Award.  From Boca Raton, Fla., Brandon & Savannah are excited to be able to contribute to this special event and are always looking for ways to use their music to bring joy to others.

The Unforgettable Prom Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 organization. The organization offers the ultimate prom experience for teenagers who are battling cancer.  Many of these teens are forced to miss high school proms because of their illness.  A Prom To Remember provides hope, strength and inspiration while giving kids something incredible to look forward to.
