Northwestern Mutual brings fun to pediatric cancer patients at Chris Evert Children's Hospital
Northwestern Mutual, through its Foundation and partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation, recently donated a Starlight Fun Center and Starlight iPad to Chris Evert Children’s Hospital Pediatric Oncology Unit as part of its Childhood Cancer Program, a multi-year commitment to support families fighting childhood cancer. Starlight Fun Centers are mobile entertainment units that easily roll up to a hospital bed so children can play video games and watch movies. “We have a legacy of helping families in South Florida,” said Kevin Lawhon, managing partner for Northwestern Mutual – The South Florida Group. “Our goal is to strengthen families who are fighting cancer by alleviating some of the stress accompanying their experience.” Photographed with Chris Evert Children's Hospital patients are (l to r) Kevin Lawhon, managing partner for Northwestern Mutual; Traci Shur, director of Foundation Operations and Robert Peters, southeast region director of Starlight Children's Foundation.
