Young President's Council "Barefoot on the Beach" raises money for Broward Health Foundation
Barefoot on the Beach, a fundraising event coordinated by the Broward Health Foundation’s Young President’s Council, was held Friday, February 22 on the private beach at Harbor Beach Marriot Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale. More than 150 people attended this inaugural event and more than $67,000 was raised to benefit Chris Evert Children’s Hospital. Highlights of the event included a raffle drawing for a trip to Atlantis Resort in Paradise Island, Bahamas, delicious food, drinks and dancing.
The presenting sponsor for Barefoot on the Beach was Pediatrix Medical Group; additional sponsors included Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, Phoenix Physicians and Presidio/Cisco.
“We were thrilled with the great turnout we had at this inaugural event,” said Kyle Boos, chair of the Young President’s Council. “It was fun to see everyone check their shoes and go barefoot on the beach for the night – and it was especially great to be able to raise funds to help children and families at Chris Evert Children’s Hospital.”
The Young President’s Council is a recently formed fundraising group consisting of individuals, 45 years of age and younger, who make an annual gift of $500 or more to the Broward Health Foundation. The YPC is comprised of young professionals in the community with a goal of raising funds and awareness for the Chris Evert Children’s Hospital. Barefoot on the Beach is the group’s signature fundraising event.
