American Academy of Wound Care Management Appoints Broward Health Physicians to Board of Directors
The American Academy of Wound Care Management has appointed Broward Health physicians Juan Bravo, MD, at Imperial Point Medical Center’s (IPMC) and Coral Springs Medical Center’s (CSMC) Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, and Robert Snyder, DPM, CSMC’s Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine to its board of directors. Snyder will serve as president-elect. Both doctors’ terms of office will begin September 11, 2010 and will run through September 2013.
As board members, Drs. Bravo and Snyder will be expected to assist with the management of the organization, including fulfilling the duties of examination development and general governance.
Both wound care centers opened its doors to offer treatment for difficult, non-healing wounds such as diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers and traumatic wounds. IPMC and CSMC offer the same variety of advanced wound care modalities, which include “smart dressings”, bio-engineered tissues, compression wraps, total contact casting as well as the adjunctive therapy of Hyperbaric Oxygen with approved indications.
