Friday, September 10, 2010 - Coral Springs Medical Center’s Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Fund Focuses on October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Coral Springs, FL - With breast cancer rates on the rise and the rolls of the uninsured women increasing, the Coral Springs Medical Center’s Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Fund works tirelessly year-round to ensure women (in northwest Broward County) in financial need receive free mammograms and proper breast medical care. The goal is early detection which is when the chances of survival are much greater. To date the fund has provided more than 500 mammograms and identified nearly 30 women with breast cancer and provided follow-up treatment.

In order to accomplish the mission of the Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Fund, ongoing education and fundraising need to be accomplished and Lisa herself has been an integral part of both - even as she lives with cancer and chemotherapy. Upcoming highlights include:

October 1-31 - Join Brighton Collectibles Power for Pink campaign in their mission to raise breast cancer awareness and help women in need.  For every bracelet sold, Brighton will donate $10 to the Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Fund. October 1 & 2 - Capture the Moment & Pose for a Cure - Local photographer and breast cancer survivor Rosina DiBello is offering a unique photography session for a special cause, the Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Fund. This eventful photography session will be held in a gorgeous private home. The package price of $95 includes: professional makeover, private session with posing and guidance expertise, two outfit and setting changes, wine and appetizers and much more. October 6 - Coral Springs Chamber’s Powerful Women’s Alliance – Lisa Boccard from the Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Fund will be the keynote speaker at this powerful women’s luncheon event at the Heron Bay Marriott in Coral Springs. She will share her heartwarming and compelling story on her journey with breast cancer. With her ever-present optimism, Lisa has found the silver lining in an otherwise dark cloud.
