Monday, February 14, 2011 - Amit Upadhiaya, DO and David G. Paris, MD, Named Most Valuable Physicians for the Quarter at North Broward Medical Center

Deerfield Beach, FL - Every quarter, Broward Health North Broward Medical Center recognizes two outstanding doctors as Most Valuable Physicians (MVP). This quarter’s MVP recipients are Amit Upadhiaya, DO, and David G. Paris, MD.

“We are so pleased to present the MVP award to these two caring and compassionate physicians,” said Pauline Grant, CEO of North Broward Medical Center. “Their dedication to our patients and hospital staff make them a true asset to our North Broward Medical Center family.”

Dr. Upadhiaya is an Internal Medicine Physician at North Broward Medical Center since July, 2004.  He earned a Doctor of Osteopathy from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York, in May of 2001.  Dr. Upadhiaya completed his residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center/Miami Heart Institute, Miami Beach, Florida.  He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Internists, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American College of Physicians.  He participates in NBMC Medical Staff Committees.  His nominations for MVP spoke of him in glowing terms as demonstrating genuine concern for patients, treating staff and patients with the utmost respect and making sure to explain everything clearly.

Dr. Paris is a Cardiologist who joined the NBMC Medical Staff in 1977. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  Dr. Paris attended Universidad Central Del Este San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic.  He completed his residency in internal medicine at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, New Jersey and his Fellowship in Cardiology at the Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.  He has been Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology since 1993.  His nominations enthusiastically spoke to Dr. Paris’s wonderful, caring manner and the time that he spends making sure each patient’s concerns are addressed promptly.
