Process Improvements Result in Better Workflow
Broward Health Medical Center’s radiology department is a comprehensive diagnostic imaging center averaging more than 700 studies per day.  BHMC’s radiology picture archiving and communications system (PACS) was implemented in May 2005, just prior to a major expansion of the emergency department, critical care units, operating room and outpatient services. Cheers for Charity Event in Fort Lauderdale

Problems with Florida Feet; beyond Flip-Flops
Chances are, if you live in south Florida long enough and don’t protect your feet, you will experience some sort of foot problem. Dr. Dominick Sansone is a podiatrist with Broward Health North and Broward Health Imperial Point, who specializes in foot and ankle surgery. At his practice in Deerfield Beach, the most common complaint Dr. Sansone receives is aching feet, typically a result of shoes being too old and failing to offer the proper support. Lisa Tepper Appointed Administrative Services Manager of Broward Health Weston

Broward Health North Welcomes New Physicians

Broward Health North Opens New Post Anesthesia Care Unit

The American Diabetes Association Honors Top Community Leaders

Annie L. Weaver Health & Resource Day in Pompano Beach
The Annie L. Weaver Health Center will host its annual Health and Resource Day on Oct. 24. Ring My Bell: Salvation Army's 'Red Kettle 5K Run/Walk'
Broward Health is a sponsor of the Salvation Army's "Red Kettle 5K Run/Walk" will take place on Nov. 3 at Vista View Park located in Davie. LGBT Seniors Health Expo at Wilton Manors Pride Center
On Saturday, October 20 the Pride Center will hold its third annual LGBT Senior Health Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At the Expo, representatives of fifty LGBT-friendly medical, professional, financial and support providers will showcase their services and products. HIV/AIDS Organization Broward House Announces Red Ribbon Award Honorees

Bio-Mechanical Engineer Paves Way for Bike Club
The latest exercise rage of conducting boot camps has hit the sport of biking. The Bike Club has been operated by 49-year-old David Rolle, bio-mechanical engineer from the Broward Health Medical Center, for two years and has offered biking enthusiasts an opportunity to learn the sport the proper way. Hospital Ambassador Recognized For Community Advocacy

2012 Annual Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night® Broward Walk – Saturday, November 3, 2012

Panthers Foundation and Panthers Broadcaster Bill Lindsay to Visit Chris Evert Children’s Hospital Today
Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that the Florida Panthers Foundation, Florida Panthers alumni and Fox Sports Color Commentator Bill Lindsay as well as Stanley C. Panther and the Redline Lady Panthers will hand out knitted hats donated to the hospital by the Florida Panthers Booster Club and stuffed animals donated by a Florida Panthers Season Seat Owner. Coral Springs Community Chest Presents Funding To Local Organizations

Flower Power: United Way Hosts 'Magnolia Luncheon'
United Way of Broward County's Women's Leadership Council members will host its second annual "Magnolia Luncheon" presented by Broward Health on Nov. 8 at Pier 66 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event will honor the Magnolia Corporate Philanthropy Award recipients Bank of America Women's Leadership Donors and Magnolia Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Ginny Miller. Breast Cancer Awareness | MAMMOPALOOZA Event Coverage

One Woman’s Search for Answers
Tiffany Grantham is a 41-year old office manager for a small company in Coral Springs. A single mother and a survivor of breast cancer at age 35, she was not entirely surprised when she went for her yearly mammogram and found a lump in her breast. Thanks to her persistence, Grantham was able to identify local low-cost resources for uninsured and under-insured women. "I don't give up easily," she says. "I can be pushy." (The Parklander, 10/12)

Battling Breast Cancer, With High Heels and Beefcake
Over 650 women, men and some very extravagantly dressed canines descended on downtown Fort Lauderdale Saturday for the sixth annual Glam Doll Strut. The event, part of the Glam-A-THON series, is a fundraiser for Broward Health Foundation. (City & Shore Magazine, 10/15/12)

Artistic Heels Part of Cancer Project
Michael Colanero and Steven Sylvester were invited by Glam-A-THON, a fundraising effort assisting Broward Health during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to make 5 foot shoes to be featured in each hospital during the month of October. (Sun Sentinel, 10/15/12)

Lisa Boccard Pleased With 9th Annual Festival of the Flutes
Lisa Boccard’ s continuous fight against breast cancer has led her to work toward raising money to help lower income women receive free mammograms. The Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Fund has provided more than 1,000 free mammograms. There were 53 positive results who received cancer treatment through Broward Health. Kathy Chapman's Story of Survival
Thanks to family and friends, the doctors and entire staff at Broward health North, cancer survivor Kathy Chapman has stayed positive. Coral Springs Firefighters “Pinktober” Spaghetti Dinner
The Coral Springs Fire Department will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month this Saturday. Josie Pancho's Story of Survival
Josie Pancho has been a cancer survivor for five-and-a-half years now. She credits having a positive attitude with helping her through her diagnosis. After her diagnosis, she helped raise money to benefit the Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Fund, to give free mammogram testing to uninsured women at Broward Health Coral Springs.
