Affordable Fitness:
Hospitals in Broward now offer an alternative, creating fitness centers friendly to gym newbies. Wellness centers are open at Broward Health Medical Center, Broward Health Imperial Point, and Broward Health Coral Springs.

Debunking Health Myths: Broward Health and other hospitals now offer online health libraries that give detailed nutritional and toxicity information.

New Age Therapies: These days, a post-op stay is likely to include a hospital worker switching on a soothing song, encouraging your artistic side, and introducing you to a friendly golden retriever. The Chris Evert Children’s Hospital even employs a music therapist, Laura Cornelius, who has seen the healing power of a good song.

Networking as Therapy: Dr. Bruce Janke, orthopedic surgeon and medical director of Broward Health North’s Joint Replacement Center, says the social networking program there has meant postoperative patients return to interact with doctors and other patients with similar medical histories.

Preventive Health for Your Head: The Memory Disorder Center at Broward Health North takes a holistic approach to memory loss and other forms of mental functioning impairment, using clues from patients’ self-reports as well as physicians’ evaluations to uncover the root causes of the problem.

If you're a nurse who specializes in assisting with surgery, newborn care, or cardiovascular disease, you can write your own ticket. Girl Battling Cancer Receives Warm Welcome from Classmates 
Broward Health Medical Center patient Alexandra Orzech, received a special welcome from her entire fourth grade class on Friday.
