Stroke survivor walks to inspire others
Cross country walker Mycle Brandy, a survivor of four strokes, visited Broward Health Medical Center on his way to the end of his journey in Miami. Miami Quarterback Joins Broward Health Team
Before clinching a career in the NFL, Ryan Tannehill had a very different goal: to become an orthopedic surgeon. Art, a Weapon Against Cancer
Broward Health developed a unique program in South Florida for adults with cancer. The program, called Hospital Artist-in-Residence (artist in residence at the hospital), has been in place at Broward Health Medical Center since April 2012, thanks to the Livestrong Foundation. The program is part of the Creative Center at University Settlement in New York. The Creative Center is a nonprofit organization that tries to use art as therapy for patients with cancer and chronic diseases. (El Sentinel, February 14, 2013)
