Broward Health Coral Springs Introduces Spine Program
Coral Springs, FL - More than 30 million Americans suffer from significant back pain where even everyday activities such as walking can cause pain. The good news is residents of northwest Broward County have a facility where they can go for relief of spinal disorders or back and neck pain. Broward Health Coral Springs Medical Center (BHCSMC) is proud to introduce its new spine program to the community.
Using innovative techniques, cutting-edge technology and evidence-based medicine, minimally- invasive spinal surgery utilizes the knowledge of important anatomy to treat spinal conditions without causing injury to surrounding soft tissues. Highly specialized tools and instrumentation provide for safe and effective treatment of pain.
Advantages of minimally-invasive spinal surgery include: less post-operative pain, quicker recovery, reduced blood loss, less scarring and improved function. Additionally, many spinal operations can be completed on an outpatient basis by using only one small incision.
With the development of BHCSMC’s spine care program also brings the addition of three new physicians - Ian Johnson, MD, neurosurgery/spinal surgery; Lloyd Maliner, MD, neurosurgery/spinal surgery; and Steven Svabek, DO, spinal surgery/orthopedic surgery - all specializing in caring for the back and spine.
