Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Broward Health Community Health Services hosted the first annual Small Biz Community & Economic Development Corp. Health and Wellness Fest on Nov. 17. The health fair, sponsored by Broward Health, was a collaborative effort to build additional awareness about health care services offered at the Annie L. Weaver Health Center, Amadeo Trinchitella Deerfield Beach High School Health Center and Broward Health Pediatric and Prenatal Health Center—all located in northern Broward County.
Broward Community and Family Health Center, a Broward Health community partner, provided health screenings for chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, HIV/AIDS, heart disease, stroke and other ailments prevalent among residents in the community. Broward Health Community Health Services Outreach Services provided pertinent information on the benefits of establishing a medical home with Broward Health community and school health centers.
“The presence of Broward Health as our sponsor and table top exhibitor showed us their commitment to our local business community,” said Ed Phillips, former commissioner of Pompano Beach and local business owner.
Other businesses participating in the wellness festival included The City of Pompano Beach, the AIDS Health Foundation, Broward Community & Family Health Centers, Chattman Healthcare Corp., Economic Computers, I SEE CLEARLY EYEWEAR, Innovative Health and Wellness, Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce and Push Forward Insurance.
