Thursday, June 20, 2013 - Broward Health North CEO and Auxiliary President Both Inducted Into Senior Hall of Fame in Broward County
Deerfield Beach, Fla. – Broward Health North’s (BHN) CEO Pauline Grant and Auxiliary President Josephine D’Espies were inducted into the Dr. Nan S. Hutchison Broward Senior Hall of Fame during a ceremony at Diamante’s Banquet Center.

Each year, the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Broward County coordinates the Dr. Nan S. Hutchison Broward Senior Hall of Fame event honoring elder excellence in the volunteer sector of Broward County.

Broward residents age 60 and older, who have dedicated more than five years volunteering their precious time in the county, are eligible for nomination into this elite group of community advocates.

Grant recently celebrated 10 years as Chief Executive Officer at BHN.  In the past, she was named  one of the “2012 Top 10 Most Powerful Women in Health Care” by Health Exec News, awarded the “2009 Jamaican Milestone Award” for excellence in healthcare and named of the “2008 Top 25 Minority Executives” by Modern Healthcare magazine.

D’Espies has been a volunteer at BHN since 1990 and has served as the Auxiliary President since 2006.  Through her fundraising efforts and events, the hospital has received more than $600,000 for the emergency room and operating room equipment.  

The 2013 honorees also included: Judge Arthur M. Birken, Representative Gwyndolen Clarke-Reed, William "Bill" Giroux, Sandy Harris, Dr. Robert "Bob" Levy, June & John McCarthy, John Primeau, and Margaret Reilly.
