Wednesday, September 29, 2010 - North Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners Holding Public Workshops to Discuss and Receive Public Input On New Community Not-for-profit Corporation


WHAT:
The Board of Commissioners of the North Broward Hospital District have scheduled four public workshops to discuss strategic planning matters and solicit public comment related to the transition of the North Broward Hospital District's daily operations and management to a community not-for-profit corporation, pursuant to Section 155.40 F.S. The goals of the workshops are to promote dialogue among interested parties and foster learning with respect to the specific benefits and opportunities of the transition.

BACKGROUND:

On September 10, 2010, the Board of Commissioners of the North Broward Hospital District authorized Broward Health President/CEO Frank Nask to initiate and facilitate the transition of the daily operations and management of the healthcare system to a new community 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, while providing for the continued treatment of indigent patients in accordance with the health system’s charter.
