Linda Hughes, MD, came to South Florida from Boston, MA in 1997. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology and specializes in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Hughes studied at Boston University School of Medicine and completed her Radiology Residency at the Department of Radiological Sciences, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, MA. She completed her fellowship at Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Baptist Hospital of Miami, FL, and underwent additional training at the Baptist Cardiovascular Institute in Miami, FL.
Since June of 2008, Dr. Hughes has helped develop the Vascular and Interventional Radiology program for Broward Health Imperial Point. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the most cutting-edge technologies and has expertise in a number of areas including, uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), endovascular repair of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms, angioplasty, stent placement, and thrombolysis for peripheral vascular disease, hemodialysis access management, TIPSS (transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt), endovenous vein laser treatment, vertebroplasty and a number of interventional oncology procedures such as biopsy, port placement, chemoemboloziation and radiofrequency ablation. Dr. Hughes educates physicians and patients on the new, minimally invasive and innovative technologies that interventional radiology has to offer.
Dr. Hughes has coauthored a number of publications in cardiovascular and interventional radiology including a text book chapter on uterine fibroid embolization. She is a member of a number of local and national societies including the Fort Lauderdale Surgical Society and is a past president of the South Florida Vascular and Interventional Radiology Society. In addition, Dr. Hughes was recently recognized by South Florida Business Journal as a finalist in its 2011 Excellence in Healthcare Awards in the Innovator category.
