Dr. Sandhya Nemade is board certified in Internal Medicine as well as Geriatrics. She is also a “Certified Wound Specialist” by American Academy of Wound Management.

After receiving MD from B.J. Medical College, Pune, India, she completed Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, City University of New York. She then completed two year fellowship in Geriatrics at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami.

After the fellowship, Dr. Nemade was in private practice, before she accepted a position at the Cleveland Clinic Florida. She worked several years with the Cleveland Clinic in Naples, FL. For family reasons, she relocated her practice to Fort Lauderdale in 2004.

While at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Nemade was awarded “Distinguished Recognition for exemplifying the Cleveland Clinic Florida Naples’ Standards of Excellence.” Dr. Nemade was awarded Fellowship status with the American Geriatrics Society (AGSF) in 2002 and Fellowship status with the American College of Physicians (FACP) in 2004.

Dr. Nemade is past president of Florida Geriatrics Society (2005-2007), and continues to serve on board of the society.

Her scope of practice includes adults from age 18 and above. Her areas of interest include Preventive Medicine, Geriatric Assessment, Dementia, Falls, Osteoporosis and Urinary Incontinence in addition to various geriatric syndromes. Dr. Nemade evaluates and treats various wounds as well as supervises Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments at Broward Health Imperial Point.

Dr. Nemade has been involved in various community activities, and has published several abstracts and articles.
