Dr. Otero is medical director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Chris Evert Children’s Hospital at Broward Health Medical Center.

He attended Universidad de Monterrey Medical School in Mexico, performed his pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Austin in Texas and served as a post-doctoral fellow in neonatal perinatal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Dr. Otero joined Pediatrix Medical Group in 1992 and has served in various capacities with Pediatrix in Wichita and Fort Lauderdale. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics/ Sub-Board Neonatal Perinatal Medicine, is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a member of the American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association and the Broward County Medical Association.

Dr. Otero has been published extensively and has received numerous awards, including the Pediatrix Medical Group CMO Award in “Recognition of Service & Dedication in the Practice of Neonatology.”
