Dr. Shachner has been in the private practice of surgery since 1992 and is currently the President of South Florida Surgical Specialists, LLC. His practice is devoted to the treatment of breast cancer and minimally invasive surgery for GI malignancies and conditions. He is one of only a handful of surgeons in South Florida who performs laparoscopic surgery for hiatal hernia repair.
Dr. Shachner is a 1985 graduate of Yale University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Dr. Shachner holds an appointment as Clinical Associate Professor at Nova Southeastern University and is currently the director of the Women’s Diagnostic and Wellness Center. He is the former Chief of Staff and chair of the department of surgery at Broward Health Coral Springs.
