Brian J. Cross, DO, department of orthopedic surgery, is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. He holds privileges at Broward Health Medical Center.

Dr. Cross received his Doctorate Degree in Osteopathic Medicine from Ohio University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. He completed an internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Dr. Cross then completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Most recently, Dr. Cross completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic trauma at University Children’s Hospital, and in pelvic and acetabular trauma at University of Bern “Inselspital,” both in Bern, Switzerland.    

In 2011, Dr. Cross was named the recipient of the Martin Allgöwer Fellowship Award by AO North America. Since 1958, the AO has been the worldwide leader in musculoskeletal education and research for disorders and trauma of the musculoskeletal system.

Dr. Cross is a member of the Florida Orthopedic Society, AOTrauma International, Orthopedic Trauma Association, AO North America, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and American Osteopathic Association.

Dr. Cross’ interests include adult and pediatric fracture surgery, hip preservation surgery and correction of deformities of the musculoskeletal system. He is currently the director of orthopedic trauma services at Broward Health Medical Center.
