Dr. Steven Svabek is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who treats general orthopedic issues and specializes in diseases and disorders of the spine. He is fellowship trained in spine surgery.

Dr. Svabek evaluates and treats general orthopedic conditions including carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger fingers of the hand, elbow disorders including ulnar nerve transposition and tennis elbow. He also performs knee arthroscopies as well as shoulder arthroscopies and rotator cuff repairs. Dr. Svabek evaluates hip and knee pain and performs total joint replacements of the hip and knee. Additionally, he evaluates and treats foot and ankle disorders. Dr. Svabek also takes calls at several emergency rooms in the area and treats fracture of the upper and lower extremities.

Dr. Svabek graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1991. He completed his internship at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia in 1992. His orthopedic residency program was completed from 1992-1997 at St. Vincent Hospital/Cabrina Medical Center as well as North Shore University in New York City. During that time period he also completed a year of general surgery training as a part of his program requirement. Dr. Svabek completed the final phase of his training in a spine fellowship at University of Colorado in 1998.

His spine fellowship training allows him to evaluate diseases of the spine including, but not limited to, scoliosis. Surgeries of the spine that Dr. Svabekk routinely performs include discectomies, decompressions of the spine and nerve roots, and spinal fusion.

Dr. Svabek is a current memeber of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, American Osteopathic Association, North American Spine Society Association, Indiana Osteopathic Society, Indiana Orthopedic Society, and the American Osteopathic Association of Orthopedic Surgeons.
