Dr. Gonzalez-Garcia is a perinatologist at Chris Evert Children’s Hospital at Broward Health Medical Center. He also serves as medical director for the Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center (RPICC), assisting with all maternal fetal medicine consultations.
Dr. Gonzalez-Garcia received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Puerto Rico. He did his residency in OB/GYN at Louisiana State University and a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
Dr. Gonzalez-Garcia served as assistant professor of clinical OB/GYN at the University of Miami School of Medicine, division of maternal-fetal medicine. He was also an attending physician at Jackson Memorial Hospital and Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Gonzalez-Garcia is certified ed in maternal-fetal medicine and a diplomate with the American Board of OB/GYN. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as a member of the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine.
Dr. Gonzalez-Garcia has conducted research on HIV and pregnancy, has collaborated on multiple publications, and lectured in the United States and Central America. While at the University of Miami, he was part of the Pediatrics AIDS Clinical Trial Group (PACTG) and has recently been invited by Dr. Ana Puga, the principal investigator at the PACTG unit in the Children’s Diagnostic Center, to become a co-investigator.
