Elizabeth Tan-Chiu, MD, is a board certified medical oncologist, specializing in the treatment of breast and ovarian cancer.
Dr. Tan-Chiu received her medical degree from Far Eastern University, Manila, Philippines. She had residency training in diagnostic radiology from University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital. She completed a residency in internal medicine from the University of Massachusetts Health Care – Memorial in Worcester, Massachusetts. She completed fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Currently, Dr. Tan-Chiu is the Director of Florida Cancer Research Institute and the Director of Florida Cancer Care. Her practice offers genetic counseling, screening and prevention, treatment of high risk women with pre-cancer treatment of early stage and advanced breast and ovarian cancer.
Previously, Dr. Tan-Chiu served as Associate Director with Cancer Research Network in Plantation, Florida. She also served as Associate Director of Medical Oversight for the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and American College of Physicians.
Actively involved in research, Dr. Tan-Chiu has been published in numerous medical journals, such as the Journal of Clinical Oncology and the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
