  • Dr. Vladimir Bakalov is an endocrinologist at Broward Health Coral Springs.

    Dr. Bakalov comes to South Florida after spending the past 11 years as a staff clinician at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. There, he was involved in many clinical research projects, including serving as the chief co-investigator in phenotype/genotype studies in Turner syndrome and co-investigator in the adrenal function in women with primary ovarian insufficiency. In addition, he worked with endocrine and diabetic patients at NIH clinics and centers. He was a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at the NIH Clinical Center. From 2004 to 2011, he served as a member of the Institutional Review Board of NICHD. During his tenure, he lectured extensively for endocrine fellows and medical students on endocrinology rotations. Dr. Bakalov has authored over 45 articles in medical scientific journals.

    Bakalov came to the United States from Bulgaria in 1996, where he worked as an assistant professor, consultant in endocrinology and administrative chief of endocrinology at the Medical University of Plovdiv.
