Annie Michel, a 27-year-old stroke survivor, is grateful for the life-saving care she received at Broward Health Coral Springs.
Annie was at her home in Tamarac when she got up to use the bathroom and fell to the floor. Realizing her leg was numb, she knew something was seriously wrong.
Annie was having a stroke. Racing against time, the medical team at Broward Health Coral Springs sprang into action, quickly administering medication to dissolve the blood clot and improve blood flow. Thanks to the quick intervention, Annie is now living life to the fullest, exercising to keep healthy and enjoying the beach.
"I was blown away by how quickly the team took over as soon as I arrived at the hospital," Annie said. "Everyone took immediate action while also giving me detailed explanations to put me at ease. As scary as the experience was, they gave me confidence that I was going to be okay and I was."
