When Martin Stuart, a retired marketing executive from Coconut Creek, couldn't breathe or swallow food, he was told by his primary care physician he needed to go to an emergency room immediately.
"I had been to other emergency rooms in the past and knew how long they take to treat your symptoms," said Stuart. "But when I walked into the brand new emergency room at Broward Health North, I could tell this experience was going to be different. At the moment I arrived it was like the staff was waiting for me."
Within 45 minutes of arriving at the Emergency Department at Broward Health North, Stuart was seen by board-certified emergency physician Aleksandr Dubrovskiy, D.O., and diagnosed with anemia.
"Martin was lethargic and dizzy when he arrived at the ER," said Dubrovskiy. "We took him in right away, and after a battery of tests were able to diagnose him as anemic and get him on a treatment plan to improve his health."
"I was impressed with the emergency room staff and fast treatment I received," said Stuart. "I was in pain when I arrived, and within minutes I was being treated and starting to feel much better."
"This emergency room is not like others, the layout and level of care is designed to treat your symptoms and help you feel better," Stuart said. "In an emergency situation there is only one hospital to go to, Broward Health North."
