Broward County School Social Work Association Conference was held with social services to converse about barriers and opportunities to link kinship families who require additional wrap around services from various human service providers, together. The CHS Kinship Cares Initiative (KCI) was created to improve the health-and healthcare services-of kinship families located in the northern two thirds of Broward County, which is operated by Broward Health Community Health Services. In addition, the Kinship Cares Initiative (KCI) will promote and provide access to critical healthcare services for children and their caregivers that do not have an established medical home.
