Third Annual Sistrunk Festival 5K Run Walk
Description
The Third Annual Sistrunk 5K is an exciting race near downtown Fort Lauderdale on the historic Sistrunk Boulevard which has many landmarks commemorating achievements of African American pioneers who helped to weave the fabric, commonly referred to as The Sistrunk Corridor. Come run or walk through history and have a great time as we celebrate milestones and achievements of past generation within our community. This race travels down the historic Sistrunk Boulevard in the Dorsey Riverbend neighborhood close to downtown Fort Lauderdale and Fat Village. The Host Committee hosted a light, nutritious continental brunch and awards presentations. Cora E Braynon Family Health Center and other CHS sites are located in The Sistrunk Corridor, and provide primary care and wrap around services to Broward County residents living in area. Also, this 5K fitness event race supports the Chris Smith All Star Classic and their efforts to end childhood obesity and get kids to play within their community/neighborhoods. In addition, this race will support the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and Scleroderma Foundation.
