Broward Health co-hosted and participated in a 5K walk/run to build awareness concerning diabetes and diabetes research options. This effort was a system-wide approach toward highlighting combined efforts to raise additional funding for diabetes research, featuring live performances, activities for children and seniors, with a component that offered free screenings, giveaways and wellness information. BHCHS positioned several health centers as access points for treatment of diabetes.
