Margate Health Center and CHS Care Coordination held a diabetes education class to increase attendee's knowledge of diabetes self-management techniques that will enable diabetics and their families to cope with this chronic illness. On a monthly basis, Margate Health Center conducts in-services for patients and their families to build their capacity concerning management of diabetes and complications directly associated with the onset of the disease. Also, Margate Health Center was positioned as an access point for primary care and wrap around services for diabetics living in the northern two thirds of Broward County.
