New Horizon CDC SYTEP hosted a HIV prevention workshop, featuring Comprehenisive Care Center's HIP Outreach Team, at E. Pat Larkin Community Center within The City of Pompano Beach. Our primary objective was to build additional awareness about the harmful effects of HIV infection, as well as share the significant prevalence of HIV transmission within Broward County. Forty two adolescents were presented some of the latest trends directly associated with HIV infection were shared via handouts and a PowerPoint presentation. In addition, teens were asked questions on their knowledge of HIV and AIDS plus gained knowledge on the importance of receiving HIV tests, twice a year.
